My Story

twenty years,
one steady
hand

Calibra Digital didn't start as a plan to build an agency. It started as a habit of doing web work properly — and never quite stopping.

How I Work
Structure-first work at a desk

where it began

Before there was a studio, there was one person building sites by hand — figuring out how a page should be structured because there was no other way to do it. That grounding stuck. When you learn the web from its bones outward, you never quite trust a shortcut that skips the bones.

Calibra grew slowly and on purpose, one deliberate project at a time. I never chased scale. I chased work I'd still be proud of a decade later — and a good number of those sites are still standing.

What I Believe →

the shape of two decades

01

the early years

Hand-written markup, dial-up patience, and a stubborn belief that a site should be built to work rather than built to impress. I learned structure and hierarchy the slow way — by putting every page together myself and living with the results.

02

building the studio

Word of mouth turned a habit into a practice. I stayed deliberately small, took on a handful of clients at a time, and did the work with my own hands. Marsh & Kellerman, Community First Alliance, Meridian Consulting — the kind of work I set out to be known for: sites that actually represent the people behind them.

03

today

Same principles, sharper tools. One senior pair of hands, a limited client list, and no appetite for the template shortcuts everyone else took. I keep the craft that lasts and adopt only the technology that genuinely serves the work.

why I stayed small

I could have grown into something with account managers and layers of handoff. I chose not to. Staying small is how the person who hears your problem stays the person who solves it — from the first conversation to the last update after launch.

Twenty years in, the studio still fits in a room. That's not a stage I'm waiting to grow out of. It's the whole idea.

Seth Rogers — Founder, Creative Director

I've been building websites since I was a teenager, back when you learned by breaking things and reading the source. Calibra is where that turned into a practice: editorial layouts, real photography, and design that holds up when someone actually has to use it. Every project I take on starts with the same question — what does this business need a visitor to believe in the first five seconds?

You'll deal directly with the person making the decisions about your site. No account layer, no relay. I work at a considered pace, I show my thinking, and I'd rather get one thing right than give you five options and let you sort it out.

Tell me about your business and what you need your site to do. I'll take it from there.
