a table worth booking

A concept for a wood-fired neighborhood restaurant — Ember & Oak — built to make you hungry and get you booked.

The dining room at Ember and Oak

the problem

A restaurant lives or dies on a feeling — will this night be worth it. A prospective guest decides in seconds, usually on a phone, whether to book here or scroll to the next place. Most restaurant sites kill that feeling with slow galleries, a buried menu, and a reservation link they have to hunt for.

Ember & Oak had the room, the fire, and the food — but needed a site that made you feel the warmth and got you to the table before the impulse passed.

the approach

I led with the food and the room — one hero that makes you hungry — then put the menu and the reservation within a thumb's reach of everywhere. Atmosphere first, friction last.

The whole thing is built to feel like the place: warm, low-lit, and unhurried, but with the practical parts — hours, menu, book a table — never more than a tap away. Appetite and ease, at once.

appetite first

A hero that makes you hungry before you read a word — the food and the room doing the selling.

the menu, right there

No PDFs, no hunting — the menu and prices read cleanly on a phone the moment someone's deciding.

a table, one tap away

Reservations within reach from every screen, so the impulse to book never has to wait.

a site as good as the room

If your place is worth the trip, your site should say so before anyone walks in. Tell me about the room and I'll take it from there.
