Calibra Digital didn't start as a plan to build an agency. It started as a habit of doing web work properly — and never quite stopping.
Hand-coded markup, dial-up-era development — functionality over flashiness, structure learned by building it yourself.
Two sites built for real, for people who trusted me early: my dad's organization, rebuilt twice as its needs grew, and a nonprofit video production company, built from scratch. Everything else in the portfolio came later, as self-directed concept work built to develop range.
Same foundational principles, now with AI accelerating the execution — a limited roster, no template shortcuts, and I'm upfront about the tools I use to get there.
"Staying small is how the person who hears your problem stays the person who solves it — from the first conversation to the last update after launch."
Growth happened deliberately and slowly, prioritizing work that would endure over chasing scale. Since 1999, watching trends arrive and leave has taught the same lesson every time: what lasts isn't the trend, it's structure, clarity, and decisions made on purpose.
"I've been building websites since I was a teenager, back when you learned by breaking things and reading the source."
Calibra Digital is a deliberately small studio — and these days that means AI does a lot of the typing. I'm upfront about it: I use AI tools to execute faster, but every decision, every review, every line that ships is still mine. When you work with me, you work with the one person who actually designs and directs your site — from the first conversation to the day it launches, and every update after.
I work at a considered pace, I show my thinking, and I'd rather get one thing right than give you five options and let you sort it out — AI just means I get there faster, not that I skip the thinking.
Hierarchy and legibility come first — a confused structure can't be salvaged by appearance.
Clean code and choices that age well beyond the current trend cycle.
One person on your project, start to finish — no junior teams, no outsourced production, and no AI output I haven't personally reviewed.
What it's actually like to work together, start to finish.
