Our Story

Too loud, on purpose.

Four people from three different towns who couldn't stop showing up to the same open mics.

How We Started

It started at an open mic that wouldn't book us.

Nico and Dresden met trading sets at a Lancaster open mic that kept scheduling them back to back — mostly, it turned out, because the sound guy liked watching them fight over amp volume. Marlow and Wilder showed up a year later, poached from two different bands that had both broken up the same summer.

We've been Younger Kings since 2021 — five years of basements, borrowed vans, and rooms too small for the sound we insisted on making anyway. Paper Crown is the first record where we finally sound like we mean to.

Vocals / Guitar

Nico Hale

Writes most of the lyrics on long drives between shows, usually into a voice memo nobody else can find later.

Guitar

Dresden Poole

Built the pedalboard that half the tour techs ask to photograph. Still uses the amp he bought at sixteen.

Bass

Marlow Reyes

The one who actually reads the contracts. Keeps the band on schedule more than anyone will admit.

Drums

Wilder Kane

Counts the band in the same way every single time — a habit from years of marching band.

Formed

2021

Basement Tapes EP, five songs, recorded the summer everyone turned nineteen.

Based

Lancaster, PA

Still rehearse in the same converted garage where the band actually started.
